A Research Review of the Jewish-Roman Civilization Conflict

Abstract

The Jewish civilization has preserved its religious identity and traditions despite suffering for millennia. However, this war against the Greek civilization was unsuccessful since the Greek civilization adopted the characteristics of the Roman civilization. The influence of Greek civilization was so great that even after the Romans defeated them militarily, the Greeks incorporated them into the aesthetic of their own civilization. As slaves in Roman society in the first century AD, Jews were heavily impacted by both the Hellenistic and Roman cultures, and many of them also converted to the Hellenistic religion. Despite embracing the Greek culture that the Romans brought, the Jews fought Roman control for a long time. The Romans suppressed the Jewish uprising and demolished the Temple in Jerusalem, putting an end to the Jews' resistance. In this paper, it has been studied how did the civilizational conflict between the Jews and the Romans continue and how did it end?
