Allama Syed Ahmad Saeed Kazmi’s Method of Research in Reasoning the Sayings of the Holy Prophet (A Special Study in the Light of Kazmi’s Articles)

Abstract

Allah (عزّوجل) sent the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) as a guide and leader for the guidance of His men and gave him His last book, the Holy Quran. The practical exegesis of the Quran is found in the sayings and traditions of the Holy Prophet (ﷺ). The meaning of the blessed Hadiths of the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) is so comprehensive that The scholars of all eras search for the solution of issues in Shariah from these hadiths. It is a recognized fact if we want to find the solution of the problems which the ‘’Muslim Ummah’’ face today, it is necessary for us to consult “Four Principles of the Muslim Jurisprudence’’ namely, The Quran, the Sunnah, the Ijma-e-Ummah and the Qiyas-e-Shariah. The jurists of Shariah of every age have sought solution of the modren problems from these four principles. Whether it be creeds or Jurisprudential issues; Principles or minor points the argument of each is contained in the Quran. The scholars of Islam safeguard the creeds of the Muslim Ummah and search for the solution of the jurisprudential issues in the light these principles. Fundamental principles and subsidiary issues are all proved by the Quran and the Hadiths. Thus, to solve the modern issues related to Islam, the scholars and the jurists of Islam have been and will continue to reason from the Hadiths till the Day of Judgment. Allama Syed Ahmad Saeed Kazmi Amruhi is one of the renowned scholars of 20th century who had divine knowledge. He was an al-round personality of his time. He used to explain the solution of any issue in such a way that the questioner, whether he was a religions scholar or philosopher, understood it properly and could not help praising his quality of reasoning. He was a unique scholar of Hadiths and expert in scrutinizing the traditions. He set unrivalled examples of reasoning from the verses of The Holy Quran, hadiths, lexicology, philosophy and logic. He spent his days and nights in the services of hadiths. In this research paper, Allama Syed Ahmed Saeed Kazmi's reasoning of the sayings of the Holy Prophet mentioned in his articles has been researched and its strengths and weaknesses have been evaluated.
